Introducing the Saltwood Te Ārai Console

For those who take sound seriously, the Saltwood Te Ārai Console is a refined foundation for your listening sanctuary. Inspired by the wild, windswept coastline of Te Ārai on New Zealand’s North Island—a place where land, sea and stillness meet, the console is designed to bring that same sense of balance and resonance into your home.

Built with the same philosophy that guides our speaker design (timeless design, natural materials and performance as the highest parameter) the console is an instrument in itself.

The main module is crafted from OSB board for acoustic stability, with sliding doors, drawer fronts, and rear panel in rich walnut veneer. The frame is solid Ash, finished with natural wood oils that celebrate the grain and give a tactile, satin touch. Importantly, the console is structurally decoupled: the main module floats on the frame, while the legs rest on isolation feet to minimise floor-borne vibration.

Whether you’re housing a valve amplifier, a modern streaming DAC, or a beloved turntable, the Saltwood Te Ārai can be customised to suit your system.

Why the name? In Māori, Te Ārai suggests a threshold or veil, a liminal space. Just as music can transport us, the console becomes a bridge between the visible and the audible, the material and the ethereal.

If your system deserves a home as considered as the sound it creates, the Te Ārai Console is waiting.
